Fashion Friday

I am not a "fashionista".  I don't follow current trends or read fashion magazines. That doesn't mean I don't like fashion.  Quite the contrary, I LOVE fashion but I'm much more likely to browse a catalogue from my favorite store than to pick up a copy of Vogue and see that the fabulous people are wearing.  My style definitely leans towards retro (50's and 60's) and I have my fashion icons - think Audrey Hepburn and Jackie O.  When I was in my 20s and 30s I adored outfits from Stop Staring and the like but now that I've hit 40 I find those much too "costumey" for my taste. I'm less likely to buy pieces that designers have labelled "retro" and pick up clothing that is modern with subtle retro details or design.  I also work in a professional environment and full swing dresses with crinolines are just a bit much for the office.

I also LOVE pinterest.  I don't spend hours on it but it has been really helpful finding new designers and new places to shop.  I live in a relatively small city and our shopping options are limited.  We do have one "retro" store but they primarily carry the cheaply made, over priced costume peices that seem to be so popular. So, I do a lot of my shopping online.  Here are a few of my favorite peices at the moment:

Mink Jersey Dress With Bow

Ipanema Jersey Dress

And a couple of favorites for the little one:
